owl. part two.

This is the owl, the companion piece to the crow I did the other day.

part two of two.

I might connect the two, making it one piece. I might also take out the text.

Although it all started around the text, now it seems like it's not really needed.

I'll probably come back to this at some point. But I'll live with it for a while and see how I feel after a week or so.

That was fun.

crow. part one.

Buck 65's Strong Arm album was "recorded in a day on a budget of $0 and it shows." It was released online a while back for free (go to the Show and Tell section of his website to download it). From start to finish, it's loose, dirty, urgent, funny, beautiful and heartbreaking.

I was listening to it this morning and it me inspired to do something quick and fun. I've been working on various websites quite a bit lately, which is anything but quick and fun, so I just wanted something I could start and finish in one sitting.

part one of two.

The text is from a lyric from Strong Arm that always sticks out to me : "the crow wished everything were black, the owl that everything was white."

I've already started the owl companion piece.

new website GET! click the link to be whisked away to www.drawlgraphic.com!

Yes it's true. It's been bubbling just beneath the surface for some time now, just begging to come out. I'm proud to say we've finally freed the little guy.

What's this mean? More way awesome content way more often.

P.S. the store should be much more robust soon as well...

practice makes perfect is hard.

I recently got a Intuos3 Wacom Tablet. I've never used one, and it's not as simple as it might look. The tablet has been sitting on my shelf for the past month or so, I decided to finally break it out.

I've been doing exercises and doodles just to get used to the interface and handling. It's strange, and a big hurdle at first. But I'm really determined that it be a really valuable tool, if I really get good with it.

Here's a doodle I did that's vaguely the most successful drawing i've done thus far.

the home team is usually the best team

I guess my inspiration was "muppet-esque" or something. I'll get better, I promise.

Besides distracting myself with the Wacom Tablet, I've been working on the Drawl website a lot. So get ready.

EDIT : I drew right over that orange dude to create this ghost, who is surprised by the sudden overwhelming feeling of love.

shreddin'

Guitar Hero is like crack. Crack that humbles you and then gives you arthritis.

It's the party game of choice 'round these parts, and I felt inspired after spending hours trying to master Guns N' Roses' Sweet Child of Mine.

it's a way of life. respect it.

This is the drawing. There's a lot more to come. I've actually put in a lot of time coloring already, but I felt like posting now since I don't know when I'll actually finish it.

P.S. - G'n'F'n'R forever.
